I'm not dead, though it feels like it

So I have come to find out that deployment is not the most ideal place to take up becoming an artist. Any free time I have is spent sleeping and if I manage to stay awake long enough to actually get all my drawing stuff out the jets start taking off or landing making it impossible to draw. I'll be drawing and have a jet land and it looks like I just had a huge muscle spasm. So anytime spent towards art lately has been coming up with cool art ideas to do when I get back to shore. Kind of sad but hey atleast I'm attempting. Then I also have the issue of trying to post the rest of all my port photos that I've taken but the internet is just god aweful, but atleast we are still able to get on so I guess it's not that bad. I really can't wait though to get back and start on all these different projects and explore a lot of other art options other than just pencil and paper. I don't really know who all will read this but I did just want to say I haven't passed and one day, that is coming very soon, I'll start being a lot more active.

Name: I think my first name is boring so I go by TJ or Jesse.

Origin: I was born in a small sized town in Michigan. I lived there for 18 years and loved every minute of it. After high school I joined the Navy and since then I have lived in Mississippi, Washington, and Japan where I currently live now.

Why dA: I've always been good with music, vocals, and athletics. I cannot say the same thing when it comes to photography, drawing, painting, writing, and most other forms of art. After high school I just found it hard to make time for anything I liked to do and normally just slept after work everyday till I got into a routine. I then found myself just staring at a wall doing nothing with my extra time or goofing off playing games. It's taken me a couple years to realize where I have landed myself now and just need to get motivated to get back into the practice of all the things I love to do most. I joined dA because my friend agreed to help me get better with these other forms of art that I have always wanted to try but never could get into. I look forward to my future art lessons and hope you all can enjoy them to or at least get a good laugh. So all in all my dA at the end of the day is for my motivation.

You are welcome. I saw your work on the legendary group and I absolutely fell in love the moment I saw it. I'm in the U.S. navy and currently underway and my friend is helping me get better with art while we are out here. Saddly all I can do is pencil, but when I get back to Japan (where I'm stationed) I really want to attempt the water color using your tutorial. Sorry for the huge spew of information but I just wanted to say thank you for your motivation and insperation you have given me to not only keep at my practice in art but also broaden my horizon.

Anyway, I'm really glad to hear that! I hope everything goes well in the navy and that you get back to Japan safe. Also, even if pencil seems like a very simple tool, maybe even boring, it's surprisingly versatile. I personally like using pencil a lot.

Thank you and I have made it back safely. Now that I have made it back and seem to have more time to do stuff everyone around me feels the need to fill it with all kinds of things to make sure my head doesn't cave in from not knowing what to do or something. I really do like using a pencil but I've tried and tried and have gotten frustrated many times which is why I really want to try other avenues. So hopefully as I am getting back into the swing of things and can multitask again I have many photos to upload and then I can finally start my voyage into the realm of art forms. Thanks again. ^_^

Yes I currently live in Japan. It is pretty cool actually. The sushi is really good and they love noodles. When you walk into the one of there grocery stores you have absolutelly no clue what anything says and you wonder if you could even understand it would you be able to tell anything apart because it is all so bright and color. Aside from there food and such there is also so much to do and you can get anywhere in Japan for relatively cheap using there train stations. They take a little getting used to but it just gets easier after your first time.

If you ever get the chance it is quite an amazing experiance. Unfortunately I don't because I've only been here for like 2 months acutally being on the shore because I am in the navy and I'm actually on deployment now. I really don't know much about vocaloid to be honest, I've heard vocaloid songs on youtube and such but I didn't know they did concerts.
